Established in 2007, 3hv Limited are Ruby on Rails web application specialists based in Leeds.
Specialising in "Behaviour Driven" and "Test Driven" development and following iterative and agile
practices, 3hv ensures uses state-of-the-art specification and testing tools to ensure that
customers know exactly what is being paid for and when it will be delivered.
The process works as follows; after a consultation, an outline list of features is decided upon. Each is
placed into priority order and then a set of "Cucumber scenarios" written, describing the feature in
plain English. A series of automated tests are written around the feature, so there is objective proof
that the feature does exactly what it is supposed to. Each iteration of the project (normally two
weeks in length) will have one or more features assigned to it - so every fortnight the customer
receives an application that is fully functional for the features that have been completed so far.
Because tests are written in advance and automated the client can be 100% certain that the work
done matches the specification and bugs have not been introduced.
