MjM Data Recovery Ltd Reviews
The following testifies to the thoroughly professional, efficient and totally successful service I received from MjM Data Recovery, all the more welcome in the light of the prior totally abortive attempt by another company.
All my backup data was stored on a NETGEAR Storage Central SC101 with two 250Gb discs. This device uses a proprietary file system (Zetera/DataPlow ZFS) which makes the discs' file structure, location and contents unreadable directly by Windows Explorer. Due to disc or controller faults, the SC101 could no longer find the discs and it became impossible to connect to the device.
A critical need arose to recover two up to date back up files (180Mb and 1.7Gb in size) urgently. After a totally negative experience with another data recovery company (see below), I made a one hour car journey to MjM Data Recovery's office to deliver the SC101 to them and requested recovery of at least the two critical files under their Emergency (within 24 hours) service level. By the time I got home an hour later they had already recovered the two files and after another hour and a half I was able to start downloading the smaller of the files, followed immediately by the larger file. Both files are fully restored with no loss of data. MjM Data Recovery delivered precisely what they promised.
Their success and level of service was in stark contrast to that received from the first data recovery company I had commissioned. This other company claims to be "consistently selected by the worlds leading IT professionals as the number one choice for data recovery". Their web site also states "Last year, we regularly recovered data from media that other data recovery companies said was impossible. With over 15 years experience, we recover data from all laptop and desktop hard drives, removable media and multi-disk RAID devices. As an industry leader, our data recovery service is officially approved by all leading hard drive manufacturers ...". The company promised "to provide a FREE diagnostic test of the hard drive within 24 hours of it being received. The results will provide an explanation of the problem, a fixed price quotation and timescales for recovery." I received nothing until 3 days after they had received the SC101. I was then told in a telephone call initiated by me that their engineers had "failed to recover anything" and that the SC101 would be returned with an engineer's report. I eventually received the SC101 three days later with a one sentence letter stating "we unfortunately could not recover the data you require". That concluded my bad experience.
I would have no hesitation in using MjM again and in recommending others to do so.
